A new hybrid operating room

This year, we need raise to $4 million for a hybrid operating room and we’re halfway there.

It will be included in the Ottawa Heart Institute expansion which is underway. This new procedures room will enhance the efforts of the clinical team with a collaborative and patient centred environment, and exemplify that teamwork will continue as the bedrock of the UOHI into the future.

The hybrid operating room is an over-sized procedure room where interventional cardiologists, surgeons, and imaging specialists can physically work together. It makes it possible to do less invasive procedures with real time advanced cardiac imaging in the same location to improve procedure outcomes.
