February is Heart Month

Date: Friday, February 1, 2019 to Thursday, February 28, 2019

Location: Ottawa

Heart Month is an opportunity for individuals, groups, and businesses to take the lead in raising funds and awareness for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. It's giving that goes straight to the heart of care in your community.

The Ottawa Heart Institute's new clinical tower the largest expansion in our more than 40 year history - opened its doors in April 2018. Right now, there is an urgent need to purchase new cardiac equipment for the new facility. If you or someone you love has ever been a patient at the Heart Institute, chances are that equipment purchased through donations and support like yours may saved your life.

You can be a part of Heart Month in a number of ways:

  • participate in an event
  • buy and display a paper heart
  • make a donation that could be matched by a Community Matching Partner
  • Take control of your heart health with the Heart Health Challenge

Team Heart Ironman

Date: Saturday, June 22, 2019 to Sunday, June 23, 2019

Location: Mont Tremblant

Team Heart is an opportunity to push your limits by training for and completing an Ironman event at Subaru Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant June 22nd-23rd 2019 while also supporting world-class cardiac care, right here in our community. As a member of Team Heart, you will train with professional triathlon coach Rick Hellard and Ironman Athlete Tony O’Keeffe. You will prepare for the ultimate physical challenge with the support of a team that understands and shares your personal and physical goals with guidance from professionals Rick and Tony who also happen to be Heart Institute patients. While you are training for your Ironman experience, you will also be encouraging your friends and family to support your journey by making a donation to the Heart Institute on your behalf. The new Heart Institute’s state-of-the-art Clinical Tower opened in April 2018, bringing the next frontier of cardiac care excellence to Ottawa. Healthcare institutions like the Heart Institute do not receive funding for the purchase of critical and highly specialized equipment. By supporting Team Heart, you are supporting the purchase of critical and highly specialized cardiac equipment and enhancing our patients’ experience. Your support will have a big impact on changing lives and saving lives in our community. Subaru Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant is a sell-out event every year. Make sure you reserve your bib with us today!
