Puis, ils ont saut\u00e9 dans leur voiture et sont arriv\u00e9s juste \u00e0 temps pour assister \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re des quatre op\u00e9rations \u00e0 c\u0153ur ouvert n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la survie de Gabriella.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00ab Nous avons la chance d\u2019avoir un impact d\u00e9terminant sur leur avenir. Notre \u00e9quipe met tout en \u0153uvre pour leur offrir une bonne qualit\u00e9 de vie, avec l\u2019espoir de les accompagner pendant plusieurs d\u00e9cennies. \u00bb <\/strong>\u2014 Dr Hugo Issa<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c0 26 ans, Gabriella vient de subir son plus r\u00e9cent remplacement valvulaire \u00e0 l\u2019Institut de cardiologie de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa (ICUO),<\/strong> par le Dr Gyaandeo Maharajh, chirurgien cardiaque membre de la Clinique de cardiopathie cong\u00e9nitale de l\u2019adulte (CCCA), dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 du programme de r\u00e9sidence en chirurgie cardiaque de l\u2019ICUO et professeur agr\u00e9g\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa. La CCCA traite environ 2000 patients dans la r\u00e9gion. L\u2019\u00e9quipe pratique des op\u00e9rations et des interventions, offre divers soins m\u00e9dicaux et m\u00e8ne des recherches d\u2019importance vitale, tout en r\u00e9pondant aux besoins d\u2019une population croissante.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les cardiopathies cong\u00e9nitales affectent 1\u00a0b\u00e9b\u00e9 sur 100 (1 %).<\/strong> Cela signifie qu\u2019environ 3000\u00a0petits patients cardiaques, qui ont souvent besoin d\u2019interventions imm\u00e9diates et de soins \u00e0 vie, int\u00e8grent chaque ann\u00e9e notre syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 d\u00e9j\u00e0 surcharg\u00e9. J\u2019\u00e9tais inqui\u00e8te, mais je savais que je ne pouvais \u00eatre entre de meilleures mains. \u00c0 chaque \u00e9tape, l\u2019\u00e9quipe a attendu que je sois pr\u00eate.
